What is Healthwatch Nottingham?

Healthwatch Nottingham is an independent consumer champion created to gather and represent the views of the public. Healthwatch is here to help you get the best from your local health and social care services.

What will Healthwatch Nottingham do?

It will deliver its business through three main service lines:
1. Community engagement.
2. Information signposting.
3. Evidence, influence and insight.

What happened to Local Involvement Networks (LINks)?

Local Involvement Networks in their current form has ceased to exist. Local Healthwatch organisations has continued the functions of Local Involvement Networks as well as gaining the additional functions outlined above.

What are Health and Wellbeing Boards?

Each upper tier and unitary Local Authority is establishing a Health and Wellbeing Board covering health, public health and adult social care. The Board includes a Local Healthwatch representative, to ensure that feedback from patients and service users can influence and shape health and social care services.

How is Healthwatch Nottingham funded?

Funding is available for Local Healthwatch as part of the overall grant Local Authorities receive from the Goverment. The funding is more than what had been available for LINks.

What is the Information line?

The Information Line provides information and signposting services on issues relating to health and social care in the city. The line is open 9am to 5am. The Information Line number is 0115 859 9511.
