Healthwatch Nottingham is an independent consumer champion created to gather and represent the views of the public. Healthwatch is here to help you get the best from your local health and social care services.
It will deliver its business through three main service lines:
1. Community engagement.
2. Information signposting.
3. Evidence, influence and insight.
Local Involvement Networks in their current form has ceased to exist. Local Healthwatch organisations has continued the functions of Local Involvement Networks as well as gaining the additional functions outlined above.
Each upper tier and unitary Local Authority is establishing a Health and Wellbeing Board covering health, public health and adult social care. The Board includes a Local Healthwatch representative, to ensure that feedback from patients and service users can influence and shape health and social care services.
Funding is available for Local Healthwatch as part of the overall grant Local Authorities receive from the Goverment. The funding is more than what had been available for LINks.
The Information Line provides information and signposting services on issues relating to health and social care in the city. The line is open 9am to 5am. The Information Line number is 0115 859 9511.
