Volunteers FAQ’s

What types of volunteering roles do you have at Healthwatch Nottingham?

We have a number of different and exciting volunteering roles, additional roles may also be developed during the year to support our work on particular projects.
For more details about our current roles please visit our Volunteers page.

How will Healthwatch Nottingham Support me as a Volunteer?

All Volunteers will receive:
Induction and Core training including Introduction to Healthwatch, Safeguarding and Disability Awareness training.
Role specific training.
Regular supervision meetings and feedback.
Opportunities to be involved in other Healthwatch Nottingham activities.
Opportunities to meet and socialise with other volunteers.
Formal recognition of your volunteering contribution.
Reasonable expenses reimbursed.

How much time will I have to give as a volunteer?

All roles are flexible in terms of time commitment to mutually suit the volunteer and Healthwatch Nottingham. Availability will be discussed with all potential volunteers when they first express an interest in volunteering.

Do I Need References and a DBS check to volunteer?

Yes, we require volunteers to provide two suitable references before we can formally recruit them as a volunteer. In some cases we do allow for flexibility depending upon the volunteering role. Depending on the activity you will be involved in as a volunteer, some roles may require a DBS check to be completed before you can begin volunteering with us.
